【Notice】 【Taipei International Design Award 2020】The replacement of the jury member in the public space design category2020/8/20

This year's public space design jury: Ching-Hwa, Chang, the host of Bio-Architecture Formosana, resigned from the jury panel before the beginning of the Preliminary selection due to temporary personal reasons. After the organizer contacted and communicated, we approved her resignation and invited Jay Chiu, the leading architect of Jay Chiu Architects & Associates to fill up the jury position.

 

Jay Chiu has a master's degree in Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has won many architectural awards at home and abroad and was also selected as an R.O.C. Outstanding Architect in 2011. We are honored to invite Jay Chiu to serve as judge, and it is hoped that Jay Chiu and other jury members will jointly select the most outstanding works for the [Taipei International Design Award 2020] public space design category.

✨ Jay Chiu -- Leading architect of Jay Chiu Architects & Associates

After graduating from the Department of Architecture in Tam Kang University in 1985, he then achieved his Master’s at Harvard Graduate School of Design in 1990. In 1995, he obtained his architect’s license in the State of New York. Jay returned to Taiwan in 94’ and founded his own firm. Jay has taught design studios in Tam Kang University, Jiao Tung University and Shih Chien University, and is a resident architect at National Cheng Kung University. Having returned to Taiwan for more than 20 years, Jay has won several national and international architectural award Jay’s works were exhibited in Re-fabricating City, Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/ Architecture, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and the 2008 Venice Biennale of Architecture. In 2014, he was voted one of La Vie10’s Ten Creative Person.
